Summer 2009

Dear Prospective Member:

Thank you for your interest in membership at Twin Oaks Swim & Tennis Club. At present we have a bond available for you and your family for this summer season 2008.

Winter came late this year but never fear. Spring is just around the corner! And that means the sunny days of Twin Oaks are almost upon us. It is time to get ready for another fun filled season. Weather your ideal summer is lounging around the pool, playing tennis, or just reacquainting with an old friend, Twin Oaks is the place. We look forward to seeing you soon.

The Board met through the winter, planning for your summer enjoyment and pleasure. The Club will be ready. Our expanded tennis programs will continue to be led by the professional tennis pros from the Saw Mill Club. They will be scheduling our tournaments and teaching private and group lessons, and they will also be opening a new full service Pro Shop on our grounds for your convenience. The Saw Mill Club will also offer a winter membership, without any initiation fee, to the members of Twin Oaks Swim & Tennis Club.

We are very pleased to announce that this year, we will be offering a new program – Camp Saw Mill at Twin Oaks. This is a day camp that will be run at Twin Oaks by the experienced camp staff from Saw Mill Club for children of Twin Oaks members in grades K-5. For more information on the Camp, please see the folder enclosed with this mailing.`

If you are interested, please fill in the attached
application and send in your check for $2000.00.

Twin Oaks was founded in 1978 as a not-for-profit club. The Club is run by a board of volunteers who are all members of the club. Yearly dues are collected for the sole purpose of running and maintaining what we feel is one of the most beautiful and well- run clubs in Chappaqua.

The club, which is situated on 33 acres of land, is located at 348 Whippoorwill Road. Our membership consists of approximately 325 families.

SWIMMING

The club has two pools. The "kiddy-pool" is for children age five and under. The large pool is heated and designed to appeal to all types of swimmers. The shallow end, which is only three feet deep, has a gentle gradation; even the youngest and most cautious swimmers feel comfortable as they learn how to swim. The middle of the pool is dedicated to lap and competitive swimmers. The far end of the pool, which is 13 feet deep, is used primarily by members of our diving team and deep water swimmers. We also have a swim team that offers children a chance to compete against other clubs around the county.

TENNIS

We are especially proud of our tennis programs. Over the course of the summer there are 10 scheduled tournaments. Men and women enjoy a full range of singles, doubles and mixed-doubles tournaments. There is also a yearly parent/child tournament. We have eight Har-Tru courts that are beautifully maintained. Our tennis pros are always available to help players of all levels enjoy the game as they learn new skill. Wednesday is Ladies Day. Women of all levels have a chance to play with and meet other women in this round-round doubles format. The women will also field two teams in the Metropolitan Interclub Tennis League (MITL). The Men will also field two teams in the USTA Volvo 4.5 level and another team at the 4.0 level.

Our Junior Tennis program allows children of all ages to join our Junior Development Program or to participate in our Junior Team and compete against other clubs throughout Westchester County.

EXPANDED CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

The Club will offer new and expanded children's activities this summer. During the weekdays we offer a variety of swim and tennis programs throughout the day. In addition to our conference championship winning swim team, swimming stroke clinics will be offered for swimmers of all ability levels. Similarly, in addition to our competitive tennis team, we will offer high quality group tennis clinics for junior players of all abilities.

THE FACILITY

In addition to our heated pool and tennis courts, Twin Oaks also has:
Men's and women's locker rooms with showers at the pool and tennis courts.
